My Go-To Fall Outfit

My Go-To Fall Outfit

The weather in NYC lately make me wonder if I made a mistake by putting away my summer wardrobe. The concept of needing to have a winter wardrobe versus a summer wardrobe is still foreign to me; the California in me doesn’t understand at all. That is probably why I was so adamant on wearing this Fall transitional outfit when today’s weather was 75 degrees, lightly raining, and extremely humid (you can tell how humid it is because my baby hairs refuse to lay flat).

I am in love with everything about this outfit. The top is perfection to me, the jeans are super comfy, and the boots are everything to me.

This top is the Julietta top in Paradise Pink by Lilly Pulitzer. I got it during Lilly’s annual After Party Sale because the moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it because I have been quite obsessed with tassels lately. Everything tassels from tassel tops to tassel earrings are my obsession. I had been eyeing this top for ages in my closet, but never had the opportunity to wear it. Since I work in Finance, Denim Fridays usually just mean dark jeans with a blouse. This caftan shirt has a material of a super lightweight viscose gauze (100% rayon). What makes this shirt even better in addition to how light weight it is and how easy it is to layer is the fact that the length of this shirt is perfect for me.

For reference, I am 5’1″, petite, and most shirts do not have such a perfect fit on me. If you guys are looking for a lightweight and breezy top for this transitional weather when it’s not quite time to whip out the sweaters, don’t overlook this top.

If I’m obsessed with this Julietta top, then it’s nothing compared to how much I love these pants. For the longest time, my go-to jeans were the jeggings from American Eagle. They are absolutely still a fantastic choice, and AE currently has a sale for 30% off  jeans and pants! The jeans from Good American (the ones I’m wearing today) are by far my aboslutely favorite denim pants. The first time I wore these pants, I was so surprised at how I was able to sit all day in these and not feel as though I’d rather be in my sweatpants. My friends had also commented that these look tailored to me even though they aren’t. For all of my guys and gals out there who are short and can never find pants to fit them, y’all understand me when I say that having someone tell you that your pants look tailored when they’re not is the ultimate sign that I should never wear any other pairs of jeans.

Good American has so many awesome choices for jeans, but the pair that I am wearing is the Good Waist Crop in Blue025 in the size 00/24. I also own the Good Waist Crop in Blue027 and Good Legs Crop in White001. Between the two styles of Good Waist and Good Legs, I prefer the Good Waist because it has more of a slimming effect around your natural waistline whereas the Good Legs are designed to flatter your legs.

What I love about this brand is that all of the pants I own from them are super comfortable. No other jeans I’ve worn is as comfortable (and I’ve tried a ton), and I absolutely love the brand’s vision and strategy. I love that they make all the jeans in Los Angeles and they’re designed so that all women regardless of shape or size can fit into them and look fantastic.

The last part of my outfit that really makes everything tie together are these Aiden Knee High Boots by Treasure & Bond x Something Navy collaboration for Nordstrom. These have a heel height of 3.5 inches, and is a suede, slouchy boot style that looks absolutely fantastic. They are supposed to come just below your knee but given my shorter height, these come right at my kne. Because of how soft and comfortable these boots are, I don’t feel them digging into the back of my knee and they actually are at the perfect length. They elongate my legs and make me look much taller than I actually am! This is the first time I wore these boots, and I walked around in them all day (a total of 4.4 miles). By the end of the day, I have to admit that it was a little more walking than I was ready for, but the boots held up so well and were so comfortable throughout the entire day.

Lastly, I went on a mini-shopping trip to find some items for my sister from Express. Express is currently having a 40% off sale, so I highly recommend checking out some of their stuff while this sale is happening! I bought my sister the Oversized Cable Knit Tunic Sweater in dark green. I was also tempted to buy her the Cable Knit Matte Chenille Balloon Sleeve Sweater, but I ended up going with the oversized sweater because that is a trend that I will never get over, and the dark green color just screams Fall to me!

And that’s it from me! I am in love with this outfit, and if you guys own these items or end up buying them, let me know how you like them!

I love you all, and thanks for reading!
