My 10 Minute Makeup Routine

My 10 Minute Makeup Routine

I am all about that glam, bold makeup looks.

The problem is that I don’t have that kind of time in the morning. It has taken me an incredibly long time to even adapt to having to wake up before 12PM each day. There’s no way I have time in the morning when I’m getting ready for work to create a 45 minute-makeup look. When I finally had gotten down this 10 minute makeup routine, I was extremely happy because that meant extra hits on the snooze button!

the face

I definitely will not go for any kind of full-coverage or even light-coverage foundation when going to work. Instead, I will use a CC cream that blends into my skin as easily as moisturizer does. The trick with finding a good CC cream is to find one that has high enough coverage, but does not require anything more than your hands to apply.

The Almay Smart Shade CC Cream is my absolute favorite because it is designed to melt into your skin and match your skin shade while giving your skin a natural and airbrushed look. I also love that this CC Cream is so moisturizing, and I always use my hands to apply this CC Cream exactly as I would apply a moisturizer.

The end product is a look that is as blended as though I used a beauty blender to blend a high-coverage foundation.

I use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light under my eyes to cover up any dark circles and smooth out the under eye area. I love this shade because it is one of those more universal shades that will work for most people’s under eye area to neutralize any dark circles. I finish off the face by powdering my face all over with Almay’s Smart Shade Skin Tone Matching Pressed Powder before moving on.

I add the most minimal amount of bronzer and blush to give my face some dimension. In addition, just adding a hint of the right blush will immediately awaken anyone’s complexion, and sometimes just the blush is enough. These days, I’m favoring the Scott Barnes Pressed Powder in St. Tropez, and Jouer’s Blush in Bloom

Typically, I won’t go with a high intensity highlighter like my Becca Cosmetics ones for a highlight because of how natural this whole look is. Instead, I will choose a highlight like Too Faced’s Candlelight Glow Highlighter. This highlighter gives such a natural glow that makes anyone look like they’re glowing from within!

lips

I finish off the look with a nude liquid lipstick because I’m obsessed with liquid lipsticks. When you find the right one, they last all day, don’t require you to reapply every 10 minutes, and can easily be paired with a gloss for a non-matte look. Currently, the liquid lipstick that I’m obsessed with is Jouer’s liquid lipstick in Noisette for a more mauvey, Fall lip, or Kylie Cosmetics’ liquid lipstick in Commando for a more classic, nude pink lip.

Lastly, I want to add that I love lashes. Lashes are so important to a makeup look to me, but this look does not involve any work on the lashes for 2 reasons. The first reason is because I had lash extensions for the longest time (before I decided to go with a lash lift instead), and the second reason is because adding lashes to this look would make this more of a 15-minute makeup look, and to be honest, 5 extra minutes in the morning is too precious to me.

That’s it for this time! I hope you all enjoyed this post, and let me know what other beauty-related posts you’d like to see in the future!
